Waterproof Curtain for Bathroom

Hi All
I’ve recently had my bathroom refitted. I find my window in the bathroom very close to my shower. My tenants used to have metal (aluminium I think) blinds in there, which didn’t really prevent the water getting into the window bay area.
What options have I got? The whole area is completely tiled but water constantly getting into the area will eat away at the grout and evenly it will soak through.
I had an idea to use a waterproof curtain made from shower curtain material, cut to the right size, slightly bigger than the window area so sits outside the bay area and covers the window thus preventing the water getting near any part of the bay – Still a concern as the curtain will sit slightly away from the wall so there will be a small gap. I’m thinking of mounting the curtain using a thin chrome pole mounted into those chrome pole holders things.
Does anyone else have any better ideas?
Regards

What about one of those expanding tension rods which you can put right at the front edge of the window recess? Or use curtain wire asvused for nets. Also, would be better if the curtain/s hung in folds, rather than flat like a blind.'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'
(From Mae Stewart's book 'Dae Yeh Mind Thon Time?')0 -
Tension rods are a good idea just concerned that the overlap wont be there to prevent the water getting in. I initially did think that curtain wire was the best option but I'm sure thats going to look tacky... It's a very small window about 700mm by 500mm
