Companies who offer to but homes quickly - any experiences of using them?

We are currently looking to move abroad for work reasons. We currently have a flat in a part of the UK where the market is particularly depressed and have been advised by agents not to sell as there is next to no interest in the market currently.
I was wondering about companies who offer to buy property quickly? I would never normally consider using this kind of company but have thought they are at least worth looking into...
Typically, how much below market rate do they offer? Indeed in this kind of market how do they go about calculating market rate when the market is so stagnant? Other than that, what are these companies like to deal with? Does anyone have any recommendations or ones to avoid?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
