sjay, there's lots of threads that give lots of yummy (and cheap!) recipes. The one that might be of most use is:-
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=68212#post68212
its how to feed 6 for 1.62.
and this one (cheap, easy family meals)
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=317739
hope these help!
also maybe try the grocery challenge sjay. Brand swapping (go one brand down from what you usually use) and meal planning also work well. If you want start a thread of your own and list out how many your are feeding, what you normally buy (brand level and how much you spend) and what they won't eat and we'll see if we can helpCC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

Welcome Jane, I find adding omething cheaper to something dearer to stretch it out helps. for example, if making sandwiches with tnned salmon add finely chopped onion to double thesalmon volume and little mayonasie.
Add a tin of baked beans to meat stews, use less sandwich filling, add more veg to main meals. Only eat meat once a week, fish once a week and go veggie the rest. replace cereals with porridge. dont use those carton drinks, eat a fresh orange instead. bake cakes and HM bread instead of buying at the shop."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
Just updated sig. Spent £24.53 with £5 MOC. I nearly stuck to list but as there were a few things out of stock walked round trying to think what else I could buy to make it up to £30. Really strugling to spend £30 my cupboards are full of rice, bread flour, oats, wahing up liquid and washing liquid. Next month should only have to buy F&V.
Having electrics put down my shed tomorrow so at last can turn on my chest freezer can't wait to fill it with cooked food.
Right off to check on my potatos growing really tall does any one know if I have to wait for them to flower? Did notice yeterday I have some strawberrys but still green can't wait to eat them.GC July £250/0 -

Popped into Mr A today as they have their ob nappies on special offer. I wish I hadn't bothered. The cashier tried to short change me by £10
When I pointed out her error, she told me I'd have to go back to the store tomorrow once they had cashed up the tills!!!! I think not! The manager then offered to give me the £10 as a credit note  It took 15 minutes of me being very firm, but trying desparately to be polite before I finally lost my temper and started shouting very loudly. Within 30 seconds, I had my money.
I can feel a strongly worded letter forming. Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -
Hi everyone. A no spend day today could do with a few more of those. just myself for tea for the rest of the week so will live off freezer portions. not including tomorrow as I am going out to lunch.
Sosh what a cheek fancy offering a credit note when it was their mistake. Good on you for getting your point across.
Have a good evening everyone.2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
