Hi

Anyone any experience of running SATA drives via a USB adaptor?

I've got one, works fine for IDE so assume sata just as easy

not sure that would work mate as not sure what chipset it uses.
The best alternative would be this if your laptop has a cardbus slot free.
This card has been confirmed to work with the 59DJ Drive .http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10407&cs_id=1040702&p_id=1449&seq=1&format=2 (pretty much any pcmcia sata card with the Silicon Image SiI 3112 chipset should be fine)
