Hi
Anyone any experience of running SATA drives via a USB adaptor?
I'm looking to flah a replacement DVD drive for Xbox 360. I don't have a desktop PC, just a loptop. I've seen this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-2-0-TO-SATA-IDE-CABLE-FOR-HDD-W-POWER-ADAPTER-UK_W0QQitemZ350063380735QQihZ022QQcategoryZ74941QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I guess it should work but anyone see a problem?

not sure that would work mate as not sure what chipset it uses.
The best alternative would be this if your laptop has a cardbus slot free.
This card has been confirmed to work with the 59DJ Drive .http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10407&cs_id=1040702&p_id=1449&seq=1&format=2 (pretty much any pcmcia sata card with the Silicon Image SiI 3112 chipset should be fine)0
