Stinky milk spillage

Help,

My daughters milk cup leaked and emptied down the back of the sofa, now we have an extremely smelly living room and can't seem to shift the smell. We've scrubbed it & fabreezed it but nothing is shifting it.

Please has anyone and miracle cures out there to help us ?

guess youve not the luxury of loose covers cos that would remove it from them if put in washer.
this is prob bacterial smell and so best bet might be strong disinfectant.
my sympathy is yours - i am paranoid with my lad when he has cup of stuff - since some spilt in car.

Unfortunately no loose covers, it's a leather suite with fabric insides/undersides and thats were the milk has soaked in.

I dropped a bottle of milk in the lounge once, it took years for the smell to go.

I've used a solution of white vinegar in the past with some success - there's a few threads in the Old Style section.
