Hi,
just recently taken out new car insurance policy and stated that I have 5 years NCD. However, due to moving house three times in quick succession I have a lot of stuff in storage, including all old paperwork (ie old insurance certificates).
I think I may be onto a loser here but is there anyway of discovering the companies you have previously held car insurance with in any other way (the location my paperwork is in storage is bloody miles away!!)
I need to send the proof of NCD into my new insurance company and if at all possible would like to avoid travelling a vast distance and rooting through all my boxes to obtain the necessary certificates...
Any help appreciated...

Just contact your last/current insurer and they will provide proof of the NCD... no need to contact all previous insurers...

Seriously? Even though I was only with them for 2 years and they didn't ask for proof of my previous NCD?
That sounds too good to be true as I can do that with no problem!

Seriously... they should have a record of your NCD... send this proof to your new insurer... like you said... simple, some things in life are!
Unless someone else comes along to say something different...

it is possible that your new insurance company could contact your old company and request this information:cool:0

Normally you only need quote the name of previous insurers and new insurers can check the insurance database."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
