Advice Needed - Buyer not responding

Hi All,
I recently sold a car on ebay and it sold for over £2000. Now the buyer came out to view the car but was not happy with the sound that the engine was making. I never noticed a problem with it and the car drove great.
Anyway, the buyer said that if we could get it looked over and provide proof everything was ok then he would take it as he is held in a contract to buy it via ebay.
We got the car checked over at a cost of £60 to do a full diagnostic and change of spark plugs. The engine does sound a lot better to be fair so contacted the buyer and told him everything was find could he let me know when he wanted to pick it up.
Not had a response and its been nearly a week since he last came to see it. Just wondering what are my rights with this and what do I do if he now no longer wishes to purchase the car because at the moment we are £60 out of pocket for no reason?!
Thanks for any advice,
MM

I would open a non paying bidder dispute. although Ive never sold a car, so I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do. But it sounds best as otherwise you won't get your fees back. HTHI

you can got into ebay help pages and request the buyers details and phone them up
also l would never had paid out for the car to get looked over inless they left you with money for a deposit for the car, the gold rule in ebay is you ask questions first then bid if lucky you win and pay maybe they changed there mind to get your fees back open a none payment dispute and you can always sell to the next highest bidder or relist not to forget to add you have just had the car looked over

There was no need for you to have it inspected , surely that is something th ebuyer should have had done if he needed to before buying the car?
Like garty says get the buyers details and give him a call, but if you get no joy all you can do is go through the NPB route and relist the car.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for all your advice,
I will phone him tonight when I get in from work. Just a quick side note the number he has on ebay is an unrecognised number, so I got his actual number from directory enquires. Not sure if he will be very happy with that but sod him, he cost me £60

If he has incorrect information on his profile - you can report him for that. Hopefully getting him a few strikes0

don't worry about the 60 pounds. just highlight the recent inspection and plug change when you relist and you might get a higher price than before...0
