I'm planning to use the £50 I have saved this month to buy some new airbeds. We camp a lot so this is something that will be of benefit to me.0

A third to save ,a third to keep indoors as an emergency fund and a third for a 'Happy Cash Stash' to spend on whatever you darned well feel like.0

I can't really beat my target by much, but the difference between my target and the £100 I used to spend (at the very least) each month in the past gets shifted into my savings on payday. I haven't got much choice other than to meet my target this way
I either meet the target, or sacrifice something else instead (and since that 'something else' would usually be 'a few beers', I'll do all I can not to fail  )
The £40 a month I save from my food budget might only be enough to buy about 0.05% of my kind of house, but I'd rather be 0.05% closer to my target of owning outright than 0.05% further from it

I am putting anything we save from our budget towards christmas for free challenge. I'm only aiming for £15 pcm tho as we are budgetted to the bone! Saying that, we should hit our target this month hopefully!

I have a cast iron rule: whenever I have money left, whether at the end of the month, or after some judicious shopping that has left some money over, or if I earn more then expected (I'm self employed), I put half into my savings come what may, and the other half I use for treats. However, if there is nothing that I particularly want or need, I save that too.
You'd be surprised how savings increase in that way.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hi doelani!
I would agree with the majority, and pop it into an "emergency" fund if you don't already have one...
If you do have such a thing already, then I would be tempted to put (at least...) half away into savings, and allow yourself a small treat with the rest.
Well done on saving so much! :T
