i24. They are lovely

About this time last year, I posted: asking if anyone had a way to get out of the £275 annual fee for an i24 card - which I'd signed up to without realising that there was a fee. Sadly I was all too late in trying to cancel. So I duly tried to make the best of it, and used it as much as I could to recoup some of the £275 in cash back.
Coming up the anniversary date. I thought I'd be sharp enough to cancel and not get stuck for the £275 again. However my next statement arrived with the £275 re-taken. I've just rung up and:
- despite having closed my account they've billed me for the £275 (which they have now promised to re-credit to my account)
- because the account was closed on the anniversary date, I do not get any cash back
- Because I overpaid when clearing the outstanding balance, they now owe me £75. I have to ring up next week to ask for that money back.
So, if anyone else has fallen for i24, then you'll need to cancel a bit more cleverly than I did to depart with your cash back. For me at least, definately a lesson learned.

Did you enjoy any of the benefits? I'm wondering whether the card can be used to access BA's Gallery at T5 or not when flying in WT Class.0

I've had an i24 card since they came out - basically putting most of my spending on it. Averaging £180 cashback per year so the total cost is £95 per year for me.
For that I have saved on CDW every time I hire a car (about once a month, plus 2 weeks in the USA which saved a bit!), travel insurance and used lounges at T4 and at CDG. I have also been able to use the card abroad saving the 2.75% loading fee.
Only downside has been BA's move to T5 - there are no third party lounges in T5 at all so none of them accept the priority pass.0 -
Hi, just a quick question, do you get 1 priority pass or 2 as you do with the Amex Platinum? Thanks.0

2 if you get 2 cards (and the second one is free)0

Thanks for the quick reply. So to clarify is this correct: pay 1 fee (£275) and get 1 free priority pass then add a free supplementary card holder and that entitles you to the 2nd free priority pass? I realise their are other benefits but just wanted to clear up this point.
Thanks again.0 -
