Switched To "Cheaper" Supplier - Massive Hike In Payments !! Beware...

I switched from Powergen to Scottishpower based on a recommendation from a comparison site. I am now paying £101 for my gas and electricity per month, whereas I was paying £39 with Powergen ! ! !

My gas payment has been set at an unbelievable £75 per month - Scottishpower tell me that this is based on my estimated usage figures supplied by Transco, and there is nothing they can do.

I am totally gutted, I was trying to save a bit of money and am now out of pocket by an extra £62 a month. I suppose I will end up massively in credit eventually, but that doesn't help me now.

Read in one of the newspapers at the beginning of the week that comparison sites are not giving customers good advice & they make up to £45( I think) from suppliers. I think it was Which that was being quoted.

There should be a site that gives basic info`,i.e standing charge & unit cost. The problem is there is that many tarrifs available from each supplier that this is almost impossible.
