Why did you do a System Restore? was it playing up before hand?
Is there anything important on the Laptop (in case a factory restore is required later)0 -
Hi
It was playing up so restored it!
there is lots of photos on it which i don't really want to lose if possible!

Have you tried to upgrade it recently (more RAM??)
Don't have anything plugged into it when you start up (mouse, keyboard, pcmcia cards, usb sticks etc)0 -
Hi

If it has two sticks of Ram I would try removing one at a time and trying to reboot again.
How techie are you? could you boot with a cd (UBCD, ubuntu or something)?
This would give you a couple of options to either repair what is already there (assuming there is no hardware failure)
or to enable you to back up all your data before performing a Factory Reset (complete wipe and start again)0 -
That's a bit too techie for me - but thanks anyway!
