Littlewoods selling over the phone

Options
I've just had a bloke on the phone from Littlewoods (I have a catalogue) asking if I'm alright today (alarm bells). He then went on to talk to me for 7 minutes about whether I'd been on holiday and describing in detail various items of clothing available in their catalogue.'A nice 3 pack of boys t-shirts in blue, white and cacker' Think he meant khaki :p

Why do they feel the need to bore you with calls like this when people are more than capable of looking through a catalogue all by themselves and choosing what they'd like?? Twice he asked me if I was considering buying anything and both times I said no!

I HATE these type of sales calls

You could have had some fun with this call.
You could have treated him like a personal shopper, and asked him if he thought the shorts on page 34 went with the t shirt on page 56

Got a littlewoods, kays and great universal catalogue (opened them all to get introductory discounts he-he) so expect I'll get 3 calls:rotfl:

Oh I wish I'd have thought of that! He looked at where I lived and said 'Oh yes that's up in Yorkshire isn't it' so I said 'Err...no'. 'Oh-ho-ho yes I'm thinking of Leeds!'

    Of course you are ;)

They try so hard to sound like your friend and fail so miserably!

No he wasn't and that's the frustrating thing! It's typical, a call centre you DON'T want and it's based in The UK!!

I work for Littlewoods for my sins - hence the name !! You have the right to stop these marketing calls and the right to stop Add On Selling at the end of any call , all you have to do is specifically request this be done when next you talk to the query lines staff , or you can do it on UPDATE DETAILS on the web-site when you log in. 50% of people say yes to the rubbish just to please the operator, but none of it is worth the money at all.. So there you go ..put a stop to unsolicitored calls pronto...end of problem... pass it on .

And if they don't do what you ask, report 'em to the Information Commissioner...

I wish I had that job - I'd be the scourge of companies as, if I received a complaint, I'd be straight around the managers' houses with way out of date cakes, mouldy tea bags, and questionable quality coffee... Then I'd make them listen to Paris Hilton's album on loop for the rest of their lives...

I don't see how they can see this as being an effective way of marketing. Sounds like something a reject from the apprentice would dream up. I could understand it if they were selling services but trying to sell you clothes over the phone by describing what they look like is just stupid.

Maybe they will realise this soon enough when no one is ordering anything as a result of these phonecalls.
