Company Car Driver No Claims Situation

Hi - looking for advice please. Just been made redundant hence lost company car. Buying vehicle to tide us over until I get a new job and for my wife to use as a second car. We are checking the car insurance market and clearly this is heavily influenced by no claims levels.

I have been driving for twenty years in company vehicles and never had an accident. Does this entitle me to any no claims bonus or do I have to start from scratch ?

Also would it be better for me to be named as main driver or my wife ? She has not had a vehicle for several years and hence has not got a no claims herself.

Just get the company you have just left to write a letter on headed paper to the insurance company stating this fact and that should enable you to claim a no claims discount.

I have done this successfully for over a dozen former employees with no problems.
