Council Tax Problem - Benefit Fraud?

To follow on from my post last week regarding my morally repugnant ex girlfriend.
It looks as if I am going to have to take the hit for the council tax that she claimed she paid and didn't, as they have traced me, but not her.
However, whilst I have been trying to sort it out, it looks as if she also claimed Housing Benefit, that I was unaware of. I am assuming that she did not put me down as a claimant, and therefore lied on the claim form.
I am after a little retribution, so was toying with the idea of reporting her for benefit fraud. However, is there any way it might come back to bite me, could they demand it from me as I was living at the address even though I wasn't aware of the claim, or named on the claim form?
Once again, all help appreciated.

As far as i can see it is her that has committed the fraud, not you.
I would imagine you will be fine as you were never living there officially and weren't to know

Hi jambon79,
How do you know that she was claiming HB? You need to be careful, because she could argue that as you were living in the property, you knew about the claim, and that you were an accessory to the fraud.
(mitchaa, the OP was officially living there, see their previous post).Gone ... or have I?0
