My daughter had some McCain micro chicken nuggets, they were on bogof otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. I was wondering would I be able to just cook normal frozen chicken nuggets in the oven, put them back in the freezer in batches and then zap them in the microwave like the McCain nuggets?
I don't know if this'll be safe and I don't want to give anyone food poisoning!

probably safe if you cooked them thoroughly, but micro stuff usually goes a bit soggyNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

They might be a bit high in fat for microwaving? I'm not saying you can't do it, we microwave mince pies and croissants which say they shouldn't be microwaved, but I think it's the high fat content which makes them less suitable for microwaving. It might be hard to get them thoroughly hot without them getting too hot IYSWIM.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Anguk has said CHICKEN NUGGETS on the Ol'Style board:eek: :rotfl:
To answer the question I think they would go a bit greasy and soggy. I would also be a bit concerned about re-freezing nuggets and re-heating but then I'm not convinced they're safe to eat the first time round.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

But home made chicken nuggets are delicious!!! - and you can freeze and reheat them too (not that I've ever had the chance because they all get eaten 1st time round!)0

Don't think you can - think frozen chicken nuggets have already been cooked, and you put them in the oven to defrost, warm through and crisp up. You can only refreeze if you change state and as they were cooked when they came out of the freezer, i wouldn't be wanting to refreeze them.0

I'm so sorry that I mentioned them and promise never to do so again :silenced:
I haven't bought nuggets for ages because I usually make my own battered goujon type things. DD is 11 and actually prefers home cooked food but occassionally I do buy things like nuggets or fish fingers for herDum Spiro Spero0 -
Ooohhhh fish fingers - now you're talking
I love fish fingers and had some yesterday actually in a sarnie with tartare sauce
We're only pulling your leg about the nuggets, although seriously after watching Jamie O show us what went into them I vowed never to buy them for DS again! I tell you what I did try though, was the Tesco organic ones when they were offering extra points on them recently, and they're not actually bad and do have real chicken in them so I'd probably buy those again at a push, although DS prefers HM ones now especially as he gets to make them"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
