Virgin Charity Line

Hi
We currently use the Virgin Charity line, but I'm not sure that it's offering us value for money. I'm new in post, so haven't been able to do a long term comparison, but they don't do open tickets (often what we want to use) and I'm not sure whether they offer better value. I will be getting someone to do some checking on this, but I do not have any long term information. The only real advantage seems to be that we get all the train tickets billed in one go, rather than running everything through petty cash, dealing with lost tickets etc etc.
Does anyone else have experience of this service? We are about to be charged £100 for the privilege, and I'm not convinced. (Seems very cheeky; they charge us and then we are tied to buying from them anyway)
Are there any other services charities use (apart from www.nationalrailenquiries.com)?
Thanks!

We use Virgin Charity Line and it has saved the charity £100's - for example an open return to London can cost over £200 and last week I travelled for £47.30 so its a huge saving! tel charityline: 0845 3050 350 for more details.

I decided against it when I looked into it. Might be worth me investigating again because we do seem to be doing more travel these days.
And now ...
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Small Biz & Charity Organisers board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
We use this a lot. It saves hard cash but is also good for staff as the tickets are open so you are not limited to the train and seat you have booked. But I have a question:
I'm organising a day conference in Manchester to which I hope people from the south will also come. Can I set it up so that participants can book via charity line? I found a conference on the web which did this but don't know if it is still possible. Does anyone have experience of this please?0
