Buildings and Contents Insurance query

Hi
I moved in with my girlfriend last August. She's owned her property for 11 years and I haven't owned before.
Looking at b/c insurance, she pays £32 pm which seems excessive to me. Property is worth less than £200k and we haven't got any major items upping the bill. She has had a couple of claims in the past couple of years, again nothing major.
If I get quotes in my name - will we have to declare the claims?? Not sure of the rules on this.
Also, with so many "compare" sites now online, are there a "best 3" which take into account the cashback deals offered??
Thank moneysavers
Paul

She owns the house so she needs to insure it. Thus she needs to apply for the insurance in her name and declare any claims.0

£32 a month doesnt seem excessive- average person claims once every 4/5 years so 2 claims in 2 years is seen as far more risky that normal.
The question will be something like- Have you had any claims etc...You will be defined as youself and people living with you, so yes, you would have to disclose it.0 -
Unsure if the house is in joint names or not. If the house is just in her name you need the buildings side of the insurance in her name and the contents in joint names (as you have no insurable interest in the house).0
