New Garage roof - What is the best stuff to use?

Hi,

I have an external garage at the bottom of my garden and is leaking a fair bit, i have tried to fix it but to no avail so the only thing is a new roof.

Now it's a prefab concrete one and at the moment has metal sheets on top of it. My friend has suggested i use OSB boards and the fibreglass it. Now i have built my own shed and used osb boards and felt for that but have not used fibreglass before. So i have a couple of questions?

1) How easy is fibreglass to lay?
2) Would osb boards be ok?
3) What is the cost of fibreglass the garage is about 4.5m x 3m
4) Does anyone have any other ideas on what i could use instead of fibreglass and osb boards?

Thanks

OSB is fine for roofs and is now recommended. I helped a freind do a lean to roof in fibreglass last year. It's very smelly and a bit tricky, but reasonably straight forward. basically you get sheets of the fibre glass, you lay a layer of adhevsive down then place the fibre glass, then finish off with another layer of the adhesive. It's the same way they do boats.

It might be a bit dear to do a garage roof with compared to felt though

bituminised corrugated sheeting? B&Q or wickes, about £8 for a 2m x 900mm sheet. Thinking of using this for a shed.

It's already got sheeting on it so dont wanna go down that road if i can.

Am thinking now of using Felt as it would be cheaper and have laid it before.

If you use osb make sure it is type 3 for roofing.Don't have any experience of fibreglassing roofs but a roofing contractor i subby to does them and he had to go on a course so not sure if it is a diy job.Would have thought it would be an expensive way of doing it.
