I'm being dropped at Watford tomorrow and need to get to Wembley and back. I've looked on Raileasy and they reckon the train journey from Watford High Street to Wembley is one hour 30 mins!!!

Surely there's a quicker way??

Try travelling from Watford Junction into Euston then out via the tube

Thanks Keith. I thought about that but it seems hard work. I'm sure there's a tube/train from Watford to Wembley, just can't find it!

You want the Southern service from Watford Junction, first stop Harrow & Wealdstone, second Wembley Central (the train that goes to Clapham Jct or Gatwick Airport). Journey time eleven minutes, depart Watford 07:18, 07:40, 08:42, 09:11. Hows that for you?

You can even use Oyster on this (or buy a paper ticket if preferred)!

To get 1.5 hours, you must have chosen the wrong Wembley station!

How about... Watford -> St. Albans (train) -> West hampstead (thameslink) -> Finchley Road (tube) -> Wembley (tube)

Or.. get the bus from watford to stanmore, then go on the tube to Wembley ?

I did the journey on Saturday; about 40mins (tops) to Wembley Central from Watford Junction via the London Overground. The option suggested by gner_ex is by far your quickest... thought I'd offer the alternative in case you miss the Southern service

Is that overground? The metropolitan line goes Watford, Croxley, Moor Park etc

    Hi Flyer

I dont travel on this route myself but it seems straight forward enough.

Direct every 20 mins , journey time from Watford High st. 21 minutes direct to Wembley Central (not Wembley Park, is this okay for you)

    or look at nationrail.co.uk

    Hi

If you want to go from Watford High st National Rail see my post above.

If you need to leave from Watford Tube station then it will take you to Wembley Park (not Central) on Metropolitan line.

Runs every 6 to 10 mins , 30 min journey.

No, its "Southern" like I said, one of the National Rail companies.

Both franchises "London Overground" and "Southern" offer direct services from Watford Junction to Wembley Central (LO also call at Watford High Street).

As someone else has said, the Metropolitan line also goes from Watford Met (Cassiobury) to Wembley Park station.
