I wish we could report them to some body.

I hate these companies. There is a similar one opposite my friend's workplace and she never sees the same people coming in and out of the office.

  • I worked for P&D Marketing for about a month and earned about £100 but most of that got put towards travel, lunch and topping up my phone because you have to ring the office to put a card order through
They tried to tell me I couldnt have my 18th birthday off even though the manager told me I could the day I started
I actually got bullied by one girl there for just talking
I feel like reporting this company through the CAB because what they are doing is illegal
Apparently all the companys based in the address have been running for about 25 years but have they hell!
I got told a bunch of lies at the interview
And to be honest I only stayed there for the amount of time I did for some extra cash and I didnt even get that really

I advise anyone who sees adverts for KPJ, JPK or P&D just steer clear
The advert I applied on said Id be earning 15-20k
    But was I?
    NOPE!!!

    Hope this helps!
  • Hahaha thanks very much everyone, ive recently applied for some many jobs i had a company phone me up offering me a job interview, kind of forgot the name and they said they would send me out the details via email.

Soon as i looked at the email i thought it was a bit dodgy to be honest, then i did i little research for their name JPK and look where i ended up, right here!!! well i had a little read of the forums ad i must tell you that i found the posts quite funny to read, im over the moon now that im not actually going to go to this interview and embarrass myself. As for taking them round everywhere in my car i prob would of dropped them both off somewhere
thats a pain in the !!!! to get back from. RESULT!!!!!!!!

It was a pleasure speaking with you earlier. Congratulations on being selected to attend our preliminary round of interviews on

On arrival at our location, you will be presented a brief application form which you will be required to complete. One of the managers, Mr. Kevin O’Neill, will then conduct an informal preliminary interview, where you will be asked to provide an insight into your previous roles and responsibilities and how those experiences could benefit our company. You will also be given an out line of the history of our company, the services we provide for our clients and where you could fit in to our goals for the future. As with any interview, it is always a good idea to bring a copy of a CV along with you.

We look forward to meeting you in person. If you have any issues crop up that could prevent you from attending, please don’t hesitate to call and we will endeavour to provide an alternate date. Below are directions.

    Best Regards
    Jack Wallace

    How to find us

By Train: disembark train at Moorfields train station, via the Old Hall Street exit. Turn right out of the exit, walk about 150 yards up the road until you come to a starbucks coffee shop. This is the Cotton Exchange. We are situated on the Bixteth Street side of this building (which is at the back). Suite 303, 3rd Floor.

By Bus: disembark the bus on Dale street by the Sayers. You will see on the opposite side of the road small footpaths between the bars and shops, walk through any of the passageways you will come to another main road called Tithebarn Street, when you see Silk House Court Building (it has a Sayers Caf! built into the bottom of it) walk up Bixteth Street to the left of it and The Cotton Exchange is on the left hand side around 150 yards up the road.

  • Hi ianianian,

As you may have gathered, your friend is working, or was working for a shoddy company.

Just for anybody else who may read this thread, I'll add my little bit.

I applied for KPJ on myliverpooljobs.com at the beginning of the year. I'd been unemployed for a while and was desperate for a break. It came in the form of an email. I phoned the number and arranged an interview with the receptionist.

My interview came and i walked over to the business district of the city and into this fairly business like building. So far so good. I signed in and went up to the KPJ office. The reception looked legit, nothing really suspicious, yeah okay there were two companies (KPJ and P&D) both working out of the same office, but that happens rite?

Neway, Kevin himself came out, introduced himself, took me into a little room and began the interview. Oh and by the way I'm sorry to say this Turgalad, but you shouldn't feel special about reminding Kevin of himself, that's exactly what he said to me, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's his most used phrase for his interviewees.

After my interview i went home, did my normal routine blah blah. Around 8 in the evening i recieved a call and was told that i had been accepted and could go in for a second interview day which would last all day.

So the day approached and i went in, was met by a lad abit older than myself (im 19) calld Chris. He was a "Trainee Manager" and would be with me all day. He took my "behind the scenes" where there were three rooms - Kev's office, a meeting room and a room that was completely empty except for a radio, a symbol, some whiteboards and the employee's handbags and coats. He then took me downstairs out the front to meet the rest of his collegues, they seemed pleasant enough.

To cut it short we went to a nearby area of Liverpool where myself, Chris and this girl caled Natalie who had the job i was applying for went door-to-door ova and over agen making a few sales along the way. At lunch, like most people seem to have said, we went into a pub for lunch where he gave me some !!!!-and-bull story of how the "system" works. (Oh and i add, I bought the lunch for him aswel as part of a 2 meals for £10 deal, and judgin by the amount of money they make, he most probably needed it!!)

After lunch we resumed the dull and foot aching doortodoor routine until it was time to head back to the train station. On the way he asked if i would dedicate my time to the job and be willing to go through the system from lowly "distibutor" to well-earning "manager". As i said, i was desperate for a job, cash and being very young and naive, i fell for the kinda !!!! he was dishing.

So job accepted I started the 10-9 job of doortodoor. I signed some contract sayin i was self-employed and wasnt an employee of KPJ blah blah blah and had i been a better law student I may have saw through the dodgy contract. All i can say is, thank goodness i wasnt tied into the job or still paying my way out of it.

So my career began, i worked day in day out as a doortodoor salesman, takin all kinds of !!!! from the houseowners who didnt want to be disturbed, signing up onli a few people, and making, probably on average about £20 a day. What is that, like £1.50 an hour?

Every morning i'd arrive and "learn" about the "system" so that I too could become a manager and teach others. Id arrive home of the evening and we'd celebrate the sales made that day with bell ringing and back-slapping.

Looking bak i cannot believe i worked there for 3 months, but I should have listened to my dad realli, who knew exactly what the company was and the kind of promises it made. But I didnt, and slowly but surely my finances got worse.

Luckily, my break from the brain-washing "system" came when I was caught slacking off with a collegue who was tired of the same !!!!!!!!. I lied to my trainee manager on the phone about where i was as he stood and watched me do it. Oops :S But when we arrived at the office he told me to leave and not come back.

I then spook to Kevin the following week who knew nothing of this. BUT, and here's the climax of the story! That following week over 15 people suddenly upped and left. Trainee managers and distributors alike just disappeared. I asked a close friend why and she jus told me to look online for Jesse Young. So i did, and what did i uncover but the damning truth telling of hundreds of poor naive !!!!!!!s who have fallen for, become aware of and left companies like KPJ and P&D - branches of the lying and hoodwinking mother company PROSALES DIRECT! Owned by Jesse Young.

So, i left aswel, and good riddance to that sodding company I say. But I say that those people like Katie and many others I worked with arn't the ones to blame, its that lying fool Kevin, and his boss Jesse who deliberately lie for their own means and trick those of us who are young, naive, desperate for money or needing a job.

Its not illegal what they do unfortunately, but it is inhumane.

Oh and as a bottom note, im sorry ianianian but your friend won't be entitled to basic wage payouts like that £1000. He chucked that out the window when he signed the same document that I did.

(Sorry it was so long, i have a lot of anger for this company)

    Oh and in case you were wondering, I know work for a great company with a good wage (not on commission) and my finances are back on track. And my feet don't hurt anymore :D vbmenu_register("postmenu_11232663", true); vbmenu_register("postmenu_11232663", true);

  • Just to warn anybody reading this-

There are hundreds of these !!!!!!! companies around and they all do the same thing.

I had a list of them all but unfortunately I cant find it, if i do then i will post.

BUT most of these companies branch from two main ones which are COBRA and PROSALES. So ask at the interview and if these two names come up do a runner that second!!

  • I recently read another thread that reminded me of this.

Once your employed they tell you not to tell your friends and family and tell you that if you do, then whatever your family and friends say is because of jealousy! Be very careful if advising a friend or family member out of the job, the brainwashing is very strong and can disrupt relationships! It did hell to mine.
  • This company changes it's name all the time.
They have been known as JPK / P&D / THNationwide
    They suck.

They send you out on into the field, and make ou believe you're going to be a manager, when in actual fact, You become a door to door salesman.

They are part of a parent establishment called DS Max, they are blatent conners, check it out, it's bigger than you think.

They used to use suite 303-314 Cotton Exchange Liverpool, Steer Well Clear dudes.

  • lol, just checked out the website.

Just check out the text on...

    http://www.jpkadvertisingltd.com/careers.cfm

And i quote ' JPK Advertising believes fully in the same opportunities'... !!!!!! does that mean? What retard wrote that rubbish!

'The impact we have for our clients is considerably huge'... how can something be 'considerably huge'? I would say the person that wrote that is a total partial idiot.
