What to do with my current savings

Options
Hi all,

I have around 6K sitting in my Abbey savings account, I took this account out about 4 years ago as they were giving a good interest rate for 1 year, but now it does not seem that great so what would my best option to be to get a good return on my savings ? I may have to take it it maybe 4 months down the line or dip into in every now and then.

Thanks,
Neil

Keep it with abbey, They have an instant saver 6.5% as long as you have a £1000 in your account. If you drop under a thousand its 2.75% or somthing like that.

    instant access / branch /phone

    Hope this helps.

Only if you havn't got an Isa though.

ISA accounts work just like ordinary accounts with both instant access or longer term if you want them. So even if you put money in one for just six months you'll still get the benefit of tax-free interest.

Would agree with you about Abbey, they have more complaints than all the other banks put together. These sites list some of the best paying acounts http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/savings/bestbuys/default.aspx http://www.moneysupermarket.com/savings/
