Hi
I to have received tickets but for the life of me cannot find any info on what is actually going to happen at the event apart from the fact that there will be some "Street Runners" taking part (this is one of the reasons we wanted to go) Apart from the "official" site, does anyone have any other info on the event? Thanks

I've been told that the organisation of the event has been a bit ragged all round.
Me too nobody bothered to get back to me either.0 -

There is a little bit on the visit London site that says that marines will be fast roping down the front of the National Gallery, and there will be a reenactment of the battle using lights, etc.
I'm on my way now and really looking forward to it- although with a couple of teenagers in tow, I really hope its good...0 -

Well, I thought it was fab;. Not very money saving for me as my two Essex girls went shopping with me beforehand and got some stuff they 'needed', but the show was really good. I could have done without the worthy interviewing of navy sorts in the first half hour, but apart from that I loved it and am feeling very patriotic.
There were lots of explosions and a great light show on Nelson's column, not to mention lots of aerial acrobatic stuff on some rigging.
So, thanks again to the original poster- this was a really memorable half term excursion. Admittedly my teenagers were not as impressed as me, but one went so far as to say that although she had not actually enjoyed it, she was glad she had gone. High praise indeed, as other parents will realise, for a family outing. :beer:0 -

My kids enjoyed themselves, a bit boring in places, I agree, especially as it had been organised with young people in mind.
Only downside was 2 silver-haired tw*ts in front of me puffing away on cigars in and choking all the kids around them, despite polite requests not to do so...
"I can't help it if the wind's blowing the smoke onto them, can I?" was the moron's answer.
Unfortunately, my response was to use the "p" word, which has now gone into my daughter's vocabulary.
I should have doused the idiot with some of my mineral water, but didn't want to start a fight.
Many thanks again to the OP.0
