Free cash withdrawal

Hi

I'm new to this stoozing business, but it seems like good craic!

I've just got a new credit card, as my Tesco card has reached the end of its 0% period. At the same time, Egg offered me 0% on balance transfers for my anniversary (how kind!). I accidentally transferred £2k from Tesco to both cards, rather than one, so my Tesco card was £2k in credit. I phoned up Tesco and they said they would send me a cheque to bring my a/c to zero.

So, I have effectively withdrawn £2k from one of my new credit cards into my bank a/c free of charge.

Is this standard stoozing practice? If so, I am well up for it!

Cheers,
Rob

Putting a positive balance on a credit card is done by quite a few stoozers. It does need a little bit of caution, because you can hardly say it was an accident if you do it 3 times on the same card ;)

The Egg cards are the ones that are most commonly put in to a positive balance - or rather they were until they started charging for BTs. However, the new Egg Money card is intended to have a positive balance so that is a good candidate.

Before doing too much stoozing take a read of as much info on it as you can because there are a few traps for the unwary. Take a look at Martin's stoozing articles above and also at the official stoozing website (which I run with the eponymous Stooz himself ... and which Martin Lewis sponsors).
