Also, why cant the shops price things in a round way? Instead of 99p, lets be honest and price it a pounds (or more MSE like: 90p). it is because of those stupid prices that we end up with the loose change!
They say (don't ask who and whether urban myth) that the reason for prices ending in 99, is to help ensure that transactions actually go through the till, so that change has to be given, as many people tender whole pounds. Otherwise, it is less noticeable if till operator simply pockets these pounds.
Still I help out in a charity shop, where all prices end in 99. The majority of customers put the odd penny in the donation box - and we don't pay VAT on donations!0 -
Hurray _ I've managed to fill the bottle again :beer:
The first bottle full I banked for some lovely interest and I'm adding this bottles worth to buy a monster LCD HDTV. OH I am one happy moggy cat.
& all for a few bits of change :j0 -
A friend of mine used to run a mobile burger van and every day would put all his change into an old milk churn and only banked his notes.
After 2 years of doing this, he got one of his employees to count and bag it all and ended up with........................
....................£18,000
Now that is a serious amount of change!0 -
