Another unhelpful posting from me ... sorry
    BUT

I'm fairly good at DIY , will attempt:rolleyes: nearly everything

BUT vinyl is ( in my experience) is a job left to the experts.
There is NO second chance, no solutions to a wrong move.
I will install kitchens/rewire/re plumb/brick lay etc etc ( includes laying carpet)
But Vinyl I steer clear of.
    Esp around the toilet pan
  • Try making a template from some stiff card first. The vynil needs to be in the warm for a while before fitting so it isnt too unworkable.

I'm with Wallbash on this one, depending on the size of the room a fitter may charge you in the region of £40 and it'll be the best money you can spend.

Either way, before you fit it make sure the vinyl is warm and the floor it's gettin laid onto is smooth and warm too.

A fitter is looking the better option I think. Considering the mess he made last time. I suppose its worthwhile. Ok ty !

Wallbash is right. A customer of mine persuaded me to fit vinyl once. It ended up like an explosion in a plastics factory. A decent fitter will prob only charge £30 to £40. I've seen a number of DIY vinyl fittings and they always look dreadful. For the sake of a few pounds, its worth getting someone in.
