It was the PC voucher that worked for me ...it was the ACM one that beeped..wonder if theyhave to be put through the till in a certain order?

I know my PC one was put through first when the ACM one beeped.

    ditto AM

I couldn't really get them voided off as I had a No7 gift and stuff, Olay wipes, hand stuff and Model Me x 2 for the grand total of £8.01 (luckily the extra express MM gave me some credit towards it) :p

Someone said previously that the order of coupons didn't matter as the till switches them all around anyway - we could we be looking at the PC barcodes but that was the one that worked - I really am stumped why it's working for some and not others.......

  • Woo hoo! Afternoon fellow Bootsers :D

I apologise in advance for any spelling misstakes in this message, have just touched up my nail polish (No7 Colour Miracle in Chocolate in case you're interested :D) and trying not tto get it on the keyvoard...my boss might kill me!

Not been proper Bootsing for ages. Spent two weeks in Devon on a lovely holiday - popped into tiny tiny Boots in Bideford, nearly died laughing at the size of it, then felt very guilty and sorry for the people of Bideford - how do they cope with such a small store?

So apart from a very quick visit to Cambridge Retail Park last Friday, no Bootsing since April for me...Did get a coupleo f Essential Cucumber thingys last Friday for 2x 100pts. There were a handful of No17 jelly tube type lip glosses on the reduced shelf for 50p each, plus a big trolley stood right next to the reduced shelf with a giant stack of these lip glosses, most with a 50p clearance sticker on (think the range has been completely discontinued) Now how many of you would have thought "oh, these glosses are on both the trolley and the shelf, they must be transferring from trolley to shelf"? Not just me I hope! Grabbed a couple off the shelf and then spotted a couple on the trolley that I liked, only for indignant SA to come and grab the trolley, glare at me and shot off with the trolley. Despite [strike]stalking SA around store[/strike] [strike]following SA around store[/strike] strolling around store in search of trolley, failed to locate said trolley again :D Did happen to be back in the area again on Saturday but no sign of those glosses - either they sold the entire back stock in less than 24 hours or they'd been taken off the shop floor. Oh well, it's only lip gloss :D

Don't like the Ladies' No7 GWP - the lipstick is vile IMHO - :o to those who like it. Have already got all the Colour Miracle varnishes, which do seem to chip like anything on me. OH who is decidedly unfussed about beauty products usually, keeps dropping hints about getting the Men's No7 GWP, so will have a look tomorrow night when I go shopping. Don't really want to buy any Boots suncare products nevermind the No7 ones, after having a big allergic reaction to Soltan while on holiday this month (and not for the first time, it happened last year on about the only really day of summer we got) - lots of nasty blisters and general nastiness - switched to Sainsburys own suncare and no problems since. Have used Soltan all my life until recently, and the last three times I have used it on my body in the sunshine I have had a huge reaction - I always put plenty on and don't use old stuff - the very fact it hasn't happened again with the Sainsburys stuff suggests there's something in Soltan which no longer agrees with me

Edited to add: On Friday the ACM let me print 2 100pts Essentials Cucumber Range coupons. On Saturday when I tried to print one the machine had run out of paper and I didn't get the voucher - and wasn't given option of a second voucher by the ACM unlike Friday - I wondered if because I'd used two (in two separate transactions) on Friday, although I tried to print Saturday's vouchers on Saturday, less than 24 hours had elapsed since I printed the first two. So either way didn't get anymore Cucmber stuff on Saturday - I know from past experience that if you try to print a coupon in Cambridge Retail Park and the machine is out of paper, the staff don't want to know. I would have mentioned to a member of staff before I left that the machine was out of paper, but the poor SA on the checkout was snowed under with a big queue and no one else on the tills, while the rest of the shop floor appeared to be empty (The pharmacy was looking really busy too)

    Happy Bootsing everyone :)

just read another report about sunscreams...

Boots Soltan Moistruing Sun Care Lotion is one of the hight rated...

    the full story...

Three leading suncreams do not give the protection they promise, a watchdog has warned.
Tests reveal sun lotions sold by leading High Street names such as Tesco and Marks & Spencer fail to provide the protection levels stated on the bottles.
An M&S cream claiming to offer sun protection factor 15 in fact scored a mere 7.1 in lab tests.
In tests for Which? magazine, Tesco's SPF15 cream came out at just 12, while Malibu High Protection Lotion provided an SPF level of 10.2 - not the 15 that it claimed.
SPF ratings are measured by timing how long skin that is covered with cream takes to burn compared with bare skin.
Best buy was Sainsbury's factor 15 Sun Protection Lotion which had the highest protection level of 20.2. It costs just £3, proving you don't need to splash out on expensive creams.
Other highly-rated brands included Asda Sun System, Garnier Ambre Solaire Clear Protect, Nivea sun Moisturising Sun Spray, Boots Soltan Moistruing Sun Care Lotion and L'Oreal Solare Expertise Advances Anti-Ageing Sun Protection Lotion.
Tesco and M&S defended their products, saying they were tested to high standards.
Marks said: "We re-tested this product with our independent test house and those tests confirmed our product is, and in some results, exceeds, SPF15."

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this because I haven't got time to read but I thought I'd add it anyway! Just been to Boots and got the following:

    Buy 2 Botanics shampoos/conditioners for £5
The 3 Minute Deep Conditioning Mask is £4.99, and is on the offer
PLUS if you get the voucher from the Advantage Card machine, you get 250 points when you buy it. So that works out as £2.50 for £10 worth of stuff :)

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.

This is the one I bought as referred to in my previous post. I really need to compare the Sainsburys content label against a Soltan one, but unfortunately threw the Soltan bottle away in a temper after my reaction (the exposed bits of me that didn't have Soltan on didn't burn, not that there were many exposed bits :D) Must take Sainsburys bottle to Boots with me tomorrow night.
