Ford Ka - Pushchairs that fit in boot?

I'm currently researching different pushchairs online and seeing what type I like etc. I'm after either a complete travel system or a pushchair/ carseat combination.

The only problem is that I drive a Ford Ka with a tiny boot.
If you have a Ford Ka or another small car - which pushchair did you go for and do you like it?

Thanks.

See the post titled "what pram to go for" for my views on car seats. If its compact you are after here are some possibles..

Quinny Zapp only from 6mths plus unless using with maxi cosi car seat (check it fits car) and then suitable from birth.

Petite star Zia (better than Zapp as reclines for new borns) but not travel system.

Toys R us Bruin Presto...umbrella fold

There is also another one called Quick smart easy fold...I think

There is also a thread entiltled QuinnyZapp on this board that is worth a look at.

My friend has a Ford Ka but she is now using a stroller and says boot space is tight.

Good luck with choice let us know what you go for in the end.

Also might be worth looking a Bebe confort loola travel system....frame is good and compact. Only downside is once seat unit on its a bit of a tank.

think you may struggle with a loola, i have one and although it fits in my car (citroen xsara) my ex struggles to get it in his golf.

i also have a basic stroller, which again fits great in mine, but in golf - although i thought it would fit as only an umbrella fold - it is a tight squeeze due to the length. how about measuring your boot, and then checking the folded measurements on various sites. best of all, though, would be to visit an indepenant pram retailed, and try out various options. i did this, and although i felt really cheeky asking, they were fab!

A Zapp would fit in the boot (ours fits in an Aygo easily and the boot is smaller than the Ka) and the Maxi Cosi seat should fit, but fitting a belt fastened car seat in a three door car and getting them out when baby is asleep isn't easy.

I'm pregnant, the baby is due later this year, so I am looking for something suitable from birth. Sorry, should have said that in my 1st post.
  • mothercare is the best for this they will try all their small pushchairs in your boot to find one that fits best, i couldnt get the umberlla fold ones like m&p pilko and silvercross 3d or maclaren to fit in mine as they were too long the only one that did was bebe confort loola as once you take the seat the frame folds up tiny and you can use the car seat on it at first which is brill and with the base its so easy to get in in the back of 3 door cars as you just clip it in and out, my sister has petti star which she brought for a holiday but i didnt like this as am 5,7 tall the handles were too low for me and felt very hard rough and bumpy to push not to mention unstable as almost tipped quiet a few times hope this helps

this one is very similar to mine, but graco brand instead of mothercare own brand. i have a corsa. have had to remove parcel shelf to get it in but it does fit! mothercare let me try mine in my boot first :)
you can get a fair idea from the videos they have on their website too.

We looked at the Silvercross Halo in Mothercare a couple of weeks ago, its small like a stroller but folds over in half rather than like an umbrella fold so might fit in a small boot.

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
