Birmingham Midshires - are they good?

My contents insurance is currently with Legal And General with an annual premium of around £65. My policy year is nearly up and I am also moving house at the start of next month so I have been casting around to check for prices. The cheapest I have comes across are BM with an annual premium of £56. Are they a a good insurer to deal with? Especially if a claim is needed. Never had to so far - knock on wood.

You will be pleased to know that according to the Birmingham Midshires website, they no longer provide insurance and the entire account has been transferred to Legal & General!!

I dont think thats right- we still get claims for BM policies. The policy now on offer is relativly new as well, only being released in March. Either the website hasnt been updated, or we havent been told about it. Neither would suprise me to be frank!

The policy is ok. It has some really strange exclusions and cover for mobiles is severly restricted. Personnally, I wouldnt, but there you go.
