Quick Question regarding charges.

Hi all,
reading all your success stories have inspired me to do something with my accounts as i feel i have been treated very poorly by my bank. my question is, can i claim back charges from my bank if im currently paying back an unauthorised overdraft?

This overdraft was caused because of these charges.

Many Thanks
Adam

    Hi,

You can claim your charges back, however, if the bank have come to an arrangement with you about paying the unauthorised overdraft back it may not be a good idea as they could ask you to repay the unauthorised overdraft in full immediately. It all depends if the amount you would be claiming would cover the amount you owe. If it does, I would go ahead a claim it. I did and it paid off my authorised overdraft and more.

    Hope that made sense.

So the banks are furious that the sun may be setting on a multi-billion- pound scam on the British public. Simon Bain's report (February 10) carries a quote from Angela Knight, chief executive designate of the British Bankers' Association, justifying the imposition of bank charges because people "don't like parking tickets either, or speeding fines". True, but fines are a matter of public policy. Courtesy of The Herald today.

Yes the banks believe they are enforcing a law. A law they passed at one of their BBA cartel meetings.
