Anything to do near Villamartin?

Options
We're off to Villamartin on the Costa Blanca this week and looking for any ideas for things to do in the area.

I'm going with my mum, sister and two children (4 and 8) and although we will be happy to just go to the beach, stay round the pool and go to the Plaza to eat in the evenings, it would be nice if there was a day trip, boat trip or something differant we could do.

We also plan to go to the Lemon Tree market on Wednesday and my sister and I will go to a few bars/pubs in the evening, any recommendations?

(checked out the water park at Torrevieja but its not open while we're there :()

Thanks

If you get a wet day the spa at Archena is a good place to go( about 75mins drive inland) Great for adults and kids and not expensive to get in.

Terra natura or Terra mittica at Benidorm is a good place for a day trip and then a drive up to Guadalest afterwards.

The lemon Tree market is on a Sunday I think but there is a market at Guadamar on a wednesday. The Craft market in Torrevieja is on every evening until late as is the fair in the area behind it. Lots of bars and restaurants along the promenade (El Muelle is a good one for both lunch and dinner)

Don't think they start running until late June but wouldn't recommend for Children as it can be a bit choppy out there!! You are also on the Island for a long time before return boat and there's not an awful lot to do apart from have a meal (good food but VERY expensive)

    Hiya,

if you eat in the Plaza you pay a premium, we paid approx 25 euros per head which usually included a starter, main and a drink.

We had a really cheap chinese (I can't remember the name of the place though but it was just left as you come out of the las Violetas apartments in a row of resturants, the others being an italian and Drivers bar/food) we only paid 6.50pp for a set meal with loads of courses, cheap and cheerful and excellent value for money :) We ate at Che American twice (watch as they add 7% on to the bill, don't know it this happens everywhere but we noticed on our last meal) and Mr Bigs.

We also had a really goegeous indian at Red Onions curry which was round the back of the Plaza where the kids bouncy castles are. Despite us being the only ones in there we couldn't fault the food or service, our most enjoyable meal out all holiday :)

You can walk to Las Dolces which doesn't take long but we only went for a look round on the last day so not enough time to try any of the returants but there were a few and they looked resonable.

Make sure you go to La Zenia its a really nice beach (my avater pic was taken there)

    Hope that helps!

If you can get down to Cartagena then it's worth a visit. It's about 30-45 mins down the motorway but a very nice place, huge harbour, historical and has regular boat trips around the harbour too, whether they still do it in the winter I'm not sure.

Torrevieja front is very good and there's also a mini theme park near the front as well.
