Feeding yourself on BOGOFS & other special offers

I'm intrigued to wonder how possible it would be to feed yourself for a week by merely buying BOGOFS, "two for the price of one" or other special offers from supermarkets. It would probably be a rather wierd diet but if everybody would post the BOGOFS we come across and which supermarket, it might provide an idea of what opportunities are available. (However, it would hardly be free food using up petrol to drive from one shop to another !)

I think you'd be better off shopping at Lidl's, Nettos or Aldi, as the other supermarket BOGOFS are mostly for sweets, fizzy drinks and other junk food.Felines are my favourite

if i just bought the current BOGOF offers from tesco i'd be dining on the following (i've removed the sweets/ processed food/ pop items.)
jacobs cheddar biscuits served with napolina chopped tomatoes, broccoli and carrots, fish fingers or scampi with cod fillets with philadelphia and frankfurters (bit too processed for me) washed down with ocean spray
If i was also allowed to include other offers then i could add cheese, bread, a variety of yoghurts (I make my own so not needed) salami and cereal, coconuts and poussin. fruit i'd get pears, oranges, melons, meat organic lamb, value turkey, diced lamb, beef mince and steak, pasta is also on BOGOF so could be served with a tomato mince sauce
couldn't find potatoes on BOGOF but there are on offer, jersey royals, new potatoes and white potatoes.
okay some of my serving suggestions are a little OTT if you served everything together but it might be possible. I don't buy processed food and only buy happy meat which would leave me with a fish veggie and lamb diet for a week. no eggs on offer though but we have chooks in the garden for those. milk also comes from the milkman.
interesting challenge!0 -

In general, I think that Sainsburys BOGOFs tend to include more healthier stuff. Last week I got chicken thighs and drumsticks, jersey royals, de Cecco spaghetti, Bounty kitchen roll and light philadelphia. I always look for Twinings tea bags, which come onto bogof quite often, and also Branston Beans which we all like. I wouldn't ever pay full price for the de cecco pasta, but on bogof it is okay, and it is sooooo much nicer than the cheaper own brand or value stuff.Jane

Treated myself to Branston Beans on BOGOF. Cost a relative fortune but they taste great - perhaps better than Heinz. Usually buy Value or Tesco own (which actually taste as rubbish as Value for the extra few p - why bother) so now having beans on toast seems like a treat!0

I must admit that I do take advantage of a lot of the BOGOFs in Tesco, but only on stuff that I would normally use.
For example, our work lunch consists of a sandwich, choc bar, crisps. Whatever offers there are on ham/filling/cheese I'll use. So sometimes we have something different. The same for crisps. We're not bothered what crisps we eat, so I get whichever ones are BOGOF.
If there are BOGOFs on chicken tonight, I'll stock up, that type of thing.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
