thanks, yeah I do feel that might be the easiest thing to do, the money we get for it isnt a massive issue, just as long as its enough to get her somehwere else.
not knowing anything about houses myself its hard to really know the best thing to do. also, my mum always thinks she knows best and does the half &^ss type jobs you mention herself!
Maybe I should help her find the type of property she wants, look at the cost of that and see what needs doing to the house to get enough for a new property.debt free by 2009! May08 £55000 -
if you do something make sure that you dont just redecorate. its wasted money cos it will need redoing after the plumbing work gets done0

In view of your mother's age and the fact that your don't seem particularly keen to do it up yourselves , I would look into selling it as it is. It is a buyer's market at the moment and you could easily spend a lot of money doing it up and not get the money back in the sale price anyway. You need to call out all the local agents to get their view on it.
