I've just bought a small electric towel warmer for my bathroom. (Other types of towel warmer were not an option for me).
It says on the box 120 watts - Economical to run.
How economical is economical? What else around the home does this compare to? (Two 60 watt lights left on maybe?)
Also - is it a false economy to switch it off when the towels have dried and then switch it back on when next needed or does it work out cheaper to leave it on all the time?

120watts is very low for a heating device. A 400watt panel heater is classed as low wattage. You can run your towel heater for 8 1/3 hrs and only use a KW of leccy, which costs 2 1/2p night rate and 6 1/2p day rate with my leccy provider. Your kettle/iron uses approx 10 times as much power

Thanks for the quick reply.
Do you know if works out as cheap, or cheaper to leave it switched on all the time or does it use more power to keep heating up from cold?0 -
It heats up fairly quickly so if you don't need it for hours .........switch it off0
