Villa double booked!

I booked a villa online, the agents said my dates were fine and provisionally booked the villa for me, so I went ahead and booked the flights. Four days later I received an email from the agents saying that due to a problem with their online booking the villa had been double-booked. They also said that they cannot help us find alternative accomodation. I have already booked my flights, I know that I hadn't paid the agents any money yet, but it was only because they said that my dates were fine and the villa was provisionally booked that I went ahead and booked the flights. What can I do? I can't seem to find anything else for that week, either nearby or in my original price range.
Thanks, BB

Take a look on owners direct for villa availability. We used them for Cyprus and they were really good. I know they are all private and different owners but worth a butchers to see what is out there.

    what is your budget?
  • The original villa was only £425, I don't think I will get one as cheap though, so I will go up a bit, around £550, probably a long shot though at that time of year.....
Thanks for all your suggestions guys!

pci holidays have a lot of villas (sometimes a bit pricey) and apartments in the palafrugell/lafranc/timariu area. I don't know which area of Costa Brava you were going to but it's lovely around there. also Vintage travel have lovely villas where they do a cheaper rate for small parties such as yours. Just as a matter of interest, where did you find your original villa from? That does sound reasonable even for June. I would love to return to Costa Brava but usually villas with their own pools are out of our price range. Good luck!
