Cats and curtains don't mix!

What's the point of having pets and not spending time with them? They're not allowed in the bedrooms, or in the lounge when we're not in it. But if they weren't allowed in there we'd never see them as when we're at home, that's where we spend most of our time.
As for my husband, he knew that I'd taken on abused and neglected animals from shelters and made a commitment to them to give them somewhere safe to carry out the rest of their lives. And that commitment and loyalty is one of the things he loves about me. (Even if in this case it's just towards cats rather than people.)
So the cats stay and we find ways of dealing with the hair, general dirt and occasional fur ball!
If it was a choice between him and the cats, I'd chose him every time. But I would never have chosen a man who would compromise me like that.

My friend uses a sheet of clear sticky backed plastic on the bottoms of the curtains so the hairs dont stick and curtains dont get as grubby, she only has to put it on two of the curtains because for some reason the cat only ever sits in those two very same spots.
I know you were after options for blinds gingham but just wanted to post that little tip my friend uses.0 -
Squiggles, you've cracked it. That's just the thing. I'll get curtains with detatchable lining, and back it up with some thin sticky backed plastic on the bits that get the brunt of it. And a rubber glove or velvet brush thingie in between washes.
Great result. Thanks everyone!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
