Error Message - Can Anyonehelp??!!

Hi guys,

Need some help please!! I'm a regular user of Facebook and every now and then a network error message would pop up but i'd refresh the page and the website would come up.

NOw for the past few days the network error message comes up but I cannot get onto the website at ALL!!! LOL What does the error message mean? What can I do to get the site up again?? I've done the usual cleared cookies etc.

Network Error (dns_server_failure)

Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server. The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a network problem.

  • I have the same problem visting facebook/amazon and bebo. It's sooooo annoying!! If you go to the voda forum there's loads of 'fixes' but they only work for so long.

See if this works for you :)
On the mobile lite software click settings>APN>

    Select 'Manual APN settings'

  • Hello everyone.

Just wanted to let you know that Vodafone's Engineers are investigating this issue and working towards a resolution.

The problem appears to be that the time allowed for a DNS server to contact the target site and relay the data back to the original connection is set too short. This time is set by the website you're connecting to. If the wait time is too low then problems like this DNS error occur. This can be proved as if you do a DNS lookup using a DOS command line then the DNS resolves almost instantly. Doing the same lookup in a browser produces the delay and subsequently the timeout.

I do suggest that you monitor the Vodafone eForum for further information regarding this and future resolutions.

    Thanks! :)
