Do I have to pay additional costs to Landlord?

Hi,
Can anybody help me, please?
I have a seven year lease with a private landlord who has a number of houses in South Wales.
Every year i am sent a bill demading a contribution towards the landlords buildings insurance, this year it is £50.00. I have also been sent a letter to say that this summer, they will be carrying out repairs and painting the house and they will let me know what my contribution will be.
My question is, can they do this and do i have to pay, as at the end of the day it is their house and the main reason to rent was so i didnt have these resposibilities and costs?

I will have to dig out the contract, but i think it may of!0 -
If you are a leaseholder however short your lease is, if service charges are stipulated in your lease you have to pay them.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
a 7 year lease is not the normal AST tenancy agreement - you will have to read it and find out what it says - come back to us when you have read it.0
