Any grants available for training students.

Hi
The mrs is opening a florist soon and will be using and abusing local college students on a work experience basis.
Are their any grants available to her for the purposes of training local college students.

Thank you for any help.
All hail the Moyesiah.

The college should be training them. Work experience is providing an environment in which they can practice what they have learned. Your OH gets the benefit of the training: would she therefore like to pay the college?

I don't know if there is financial help available if you offer a Modern Apprenticeship.

When we have taken people on short term work experience, there hasn't been anything in it for us. When we offer 85 or 115 day student placements to social work students on first degree or postgraduate courses, we do get some financial assistance from the university, but this is for the quite intensive supervision we are required to offer.

It might be worth asking the college.

If your wife was interested in taking on a Positive Action trainee, then there might be some financial support for that. Link here might be useful, but it would depend whether you had a local partner offering these schemes, I think.
