on your pc if its wireless enabled will probably be some software called

    IVT BlueSoleil (or similar)

if so open that up and then go to your phone and search for devices

it will probably find one that is called "computer" or "dell 1500 computer" or something like that (you will recognize it when you see it"

click connect then on the software will be a little phone symbol of your phone click that and then little squares will appear above the icons at the top, click the "file transfer one" and it will open a new window with the files on the phone.

drag required file from pc to phone and job done

I know there are plans to do some coupling of these technologies but as far as i am aware there are no implementations as of yet.
That means either you PC has to have a separate bluetooth adapter ,or your phone has to be Wifi enabled,.
Probably best if you state make and model of phone and computer, someone here may already have that combo and can advise further
ps the software mentioned by lingham is excellent so if you do need to buy a bt adapter try and get one bundled with that

unlucky dude, i know someone else who complained of that, but it was a "downloaded" version and it was more likely it was his bt adapter, so he can't whine
That is the reason i mentioned buying an adapter shipped with the software where it will have been tested for compatibility etc

mine wasnt downloaded, it came with the adapter and just made my computer very unresponsive.

however the broadcom/widdcom drivers work fine with my adaptor

bit confused here, the bluesoleil i was referring to is a full application suite with many features and i assumed it could then be used with any "drivers", is the broadcom package the same?

afaik the bluesoleil software includes the drivers just like the widcomm software (now broadcom) does

I've got a Compaq Vista Home Premium laptop with built-in bluetooth, and I didn't have to do anything special to get it talking to 2 different phones - certainly didn't have to download any extra software beyond normal Windows updates. There's a small switch on the side of the laptop to turn bluetooth on & off, and when it's on I get a bluetooth icon appearing in the system tray. Right click on that to configure it, make sure that it's set to 'make this device discoverable' (as your phone needs to be as well), set them both to discover each other and away you go. You'll need to insert a matching 4 digit key in each device & you may be asked whether you want the phone to act as a storage device or as a serial device (I chose the former as I only wanted to transfer music & photos).

Having said all this, once I had used it for a while I found a USB cable connection just as easy and more reliable.
