Advice please

Hi

I have a 13 yrl child who has a hormone defiencey which means that my little one developed some brain damage at birth.
Although he just looks on the small side he has obvious development delay and has the mental age of a 7yr old. As he gets older it shows up more so.
He has a statement at school and needs to be watched more closely then children of his age range.

We are two working parents who have never even thought about asking for help in some way.

Any Advice??

Thankyou

DLA is not means-tested and it will be the child's money not yours so it will be beneficial to him when he is older and maybe living more independently.

  • If you are awarded DLA you should notify Tax Credits as you may receive a higher entitlement as receiving DLA entitles you to the disabled element of CTC.
