I placed an order for some fishing gear on 3rd of May order got updated as despatched on the 6th then nothing.

Order hasnt turned up, they dont reply to emails and dont answer the phone either, I've posted on a fishing website and a few people on there have said theyve recieved their orders with no problem but that doesnt help me. I've just printed a letter to send recorded delivery on tuesday on the advice of consumer direct.

Just thought I'd let people know how crap their service is.

It hasnt tracked through Quidco either!

I think I may have found a way to get their attention seeing as they dont reply to emails.

    I've placed another order!

This time I left a nice little message with my order and selected pay by cheque/postal order. Somehow I think they will probably look at an £800 order.

The order arrived today, with a postmark of the 23rd May which oddly enough coincides with my email to them saying I had been in contact with Trading standards.

Kind of happy that I got my order, dont appreciate being lied to about the despatch date though.

Am I right in thinking they shouldnt have taken the money until the goods were despatched? (they took the money on the 6th)

No. It's quite normal for money to be taken before delivery.

When you go into a shop and arrange for delivery. On most occasions, you will pay while you are in the shop, and wait for delivery. The same thing happened to you here (albeit their delivery service wasn't as good as you were expecting).
