I got a secure message from FD a week or so ago, saying that they would be sending stuff via post as they were updating their secure message system to save messages etc.
So looks like they have finally decided to upgrade.
In respect of smile. The secure messages are answered by the phone staff. In a 7 hour shift they get designated hours to answer phones and designated hours to answer secure messages. If the phones are dead, people are taken off the phones to answer secure messages. Problem is you get customers sending a message on a Mon and then if no reply by tues sending another message, which then brings a backlog to go through.
In respect of smile internet, when it went live it was voted the best site for disabled and visually impaired people. Supposedly the colours and layout help all abled and non-abled people to see, view and get around. This is probably a reason why it's never been change, and it's also the safest bank website (well it was 3 years ago).
I have accounts with FD and smile. I like the both (ish), they are the best out of a bad bunch. My only nag with smile is there stupid card readers they've brought in now.0
