Morphy Richards Fastbake makes jam - but everyone is drooling over the Panansonic.

I have the Morphy Richards as I wanted to see if I would use the machine every day.

I do - sometimes twice a day if I make pizza base or rolls.

  • Is the Panansonic Breadmaker the most sophisticated one on the market, I want to get my research correct before I buy one. 1a_y_wink.gif

They reckon so! It's certainly the more expensive one. Of all the threads I've been wandering through lately it would seem that the Panasonic SD252/3 is the most often praised with the MR Fastbake coming in a close second.

Edit: And if I remember rightly one reader has owned both and preferred the Panasonic.

Is yours model number 48280? Did you make jam with it and if so was it a success? Pease do not feel obliged to answer.

I have the SD253 but I haven't used it as much as I thought I would!! :o I thought if I had the one that makes jam I might use it more often. Do the breadmakers that make jam have to have other ingredients, eg nuts, added seperately or is this done automatically?

Yes that is the model and the jam has been successful - but make sure you use jam sugar , bramley apple and lemon juice as they say in the recipe in the book.

It is a little less "set" but we like it that way.

Is the bread nice out of this breadmaker and have you had bread from the SD253? Do you have to add ingredients seperately?

I am quite pleased with the bread from the MR fastbake - but others who have tried both machines say the panasonic is out of this world!

Does it have an automatic dispenser?

If you mean the Fastbake - it beeps 30 mins after the start so you can lift lid and add nuts etc at that stage by hand.
