In that case, I would carry on saving for 6 months. Prices probably won't rise much, or might even drop (!), so the bigger deposit you can save, the better.
It's worth waiting to get the property you really want! It took me over a year to find the flat for me in the right location, with great parking etc... but at least it allowed me to save a really good deposit during that time!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks for all your advice so far!
Well I have got a decent deposit ..i've been saving for ten years!
I guess as to the question, would me and the OH split up..yes I guess that *could* happen..but I think neither of us are in that position to move in (at themoment) and moving in together too soon could cause us to split up! Also I'm a bit of a stickler for wanting to half costs - so I would want to own half the property - rather than live in someone else's..so he would have to sell his house.
The other point is that I commute to London and the area the house is, is within commuting distance..so yeah I would've bought near my OH but I still need to get to work and can't afford to buy in London..it's near my horse and friends at the stables..and I'm sure I'll make new friends when I move in the area (when I moved down to London I knew just one person!)
So anyhow..I got the property report, did some investigations into the work and have asked for 5 grand rather than 3500 repairs allowance, as I suggested last week (they were hurrying me, to get a completion!). I emailed the EA today! I said if they either increased the allowance to 5 grand or did all the work themselves to the satisfaction of my surveyor who would go round and re-check, then I will sign on Wednesday. Whaddya reckon my chances are?!
(oh and on the double glazing guarantee it says 'not transferable'..does that mean that it is no use to me, only current occupiers who had it done?)0 -
I asked for 5 grand instead of 3500..they wouldn't go for that but are doing all the work before i move in (its in the contract - subject to inspection by my surveyor)
So..exchange goes ahead tomorrow!0
