Private Hospital

Hope someone can help me out with this,
I had to attend a Private Hospital for a minor test that involved fasting for 6 hours prior to appointment. I was then gowned and had to drink some anti-sickness medicine before the procedure. I was then told the Docotr hadn't turned up and could I come back 4 hours later!
I couldn't wait as I had to get back home.
I had to take half a days leave and travel 64 miles for the appointment.
I have wrote a complaint and have received a standard apology.
The thing is I still need the procedure and can't seem to get it done anywhere else - do you think I could pursue getting some money knocked off? How could I word this? I am a self pay patient so no insurance?
