I got a new computer today and was given a usb 2.0 flash drive so i can store my photos/music from old computer then put them onto new computer.

I cant seem to get it working, the device manager says it is working properly, dont know how to get it up and running.

You mean the light on the pen drive flashes, well mine flashes more than 5 times, i think the light flashes as an indication that its plugged in, have you by any chany chance got another pen drive to test if its the usb port or the pen drive thats faulty

Either the pen drive is at fault or he usb port isnt working but i reckon its the pen drive, do you not have a neighbour you could ask to test you pen drive out

look in control panel/administrative tools/computer management/storage/disk management from there you should be able to see the drive and set up a partition on it to use it as a drive

If you have no data saved onto the flash drive it will show an empty page .
get back onto that page and drag a file onto it ....see what happens .

As said above your Flash Pen is essentially another HARD drive as seen by the OS you will have to Drag/Drop or Copy/Paste them to the new drive before you will see them -- Dave
