New Look Return for faulty item

Previously heard bad things about New Look returning items although had never had a personal experience. I walked into the shop expecting that this return might not be easy but went with the flow and was really pleased so thought I would share it.
I bought a light weight coat/jacket from them maybe a month or so ago. I was caught in quite a heavy shower whilst wearing it and so obviously it got wet. It was black in colour and when it dried it left white tide marks all over it and looked hideous. I was just going to wash it and see if the marks came out until I realised it was dry clean only. I often wash dry clean only things with success but figured if I want to return the coat and have washed it and it shrinks (I realise I take that risk when doing so normally) and the marks don't come out they won't allow me to return it. Also, what use is a coat if it can't be rained on :rotfl: So I decided to return it and apart from asking when I purchased it I had no quibble whatsoever and they were very nice about it when they saw the state of it.
Yes, they should have refunded me as the coat was not fit for purpose but I just wanted to post my experience for the benefit of others and congratulate the store for a hassle free service.
