Kath - the best advice I can offer is to go over to the Debt Free Wanabee board and post up details of your income and expenditure, where the experts over there can suggest ways of cutting back so that you have more money to throw at the debt, which should initially be aimed at that with the highest APR.2014 Target;

Where would your like to transfer such dept. You incurred it and so you ought to manage it
Not exactly the sort of advice on low APR and introductory offers that we normally give people who ask for help.
If it's a debt problem, definitely the Debt Free Wannabee (DFW) board. You also need to learn about snowballing which is moving your high APR debt onto low APR debt, paying the minimum possible on the low APR debt and the maximum you can on the high APR debt.
I'd point you to the Virgin Money card, 0% for 15 months, 2.98% fee, first payment is 3% of balance, followed by 14 months at only £ 25.
If you've not already you should check your free credit report with Experian to see what sort of state it's in - the better the state it is in, the more likely you'll be able to get introductory offers to shift your debt onto 0% deals."A child of five could understand this. All the poor woman was asking was for some advice to help her pay off the debt. Perhaps you would have been happier if she'd asked directions to the workhouse????
Yes people get into debt through their own stupidity (myself included!) but if companies decided it would be better to charge no or a nominal rate of interest to those customers - and prevented them from using the card - then many people would be happy to pay off their debts rather than choosing to go bankrupt or entering into an IVA .......but that seems such a stupid solution doesn't it???2014 Target;

Just a little information about me...The one who should deal with my debt!!!
I have 3 kids age 14,13 and 8. I work at least 50 hours a week, and it might as well be in the workhouse, I'm an NHS Nurse. My credit cards have spiralled mainly due to the weekly food shop at Asda, and clothes that my kids need. Luckily my kids don't ask for designer clothes there happy with what they get. Financially I would be better off selling my house, packing my job in and living on benfits.Where would your like to transfer such dept. You incurred it and so you ought to manage it
So TELLMEKNOW, next time you seek medical assistance, try and spare a thought for those nurses who are being paid a pittance for the long hours they work and the abuse they recieve. Oh, and how annoyed they get treating obnoctious gits like you!"Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards "0 -

First of all, there's no need to justify yourself (and what you do) to anyone on here Kath.
Anyway, how's your credit history? Do you even know? Maybe you should start by ordering your credit reports from the main CRA's?
If it's bad, then maybe go straight to the debt-free wannabe board where they'll help you generate some extra cash from somewhere. If it's good, then hopefully you'll be able to transfer your debt to a lower interest card.
Assuming your credit history is good, the first question you should ask yourself is do you want to keep shuffling from card to card chasing 0% offers (and paying a 2-3% fee each time), or would you prefer the 'security and certainty' of a life of balance (LOB) card?0 -
hi kayla99, if you after a balance transfer have a look at moneysupermarket.com. the Alliance & Leicester 0% overdraft may also help. sit down and try to work out what you can realistically afford to pay off this dept. if its going to take 4/5 years then so be it, just try to do it at the lowest apr possible. post your SOA there are always savings to be made.
good luck0 -
