Hi again
Now installed the SP3 updates which took ages. Ran Spybot again and that took over an hour to complete....still 'sticking' when it gets to Zlob.Downloader but did eventually complete with nothing being found.

no problem , if it's still slow try the swap from AVG 8 to Avast , AVG seems to have added nearly 1 min to boot up on the new versionEx forum ambassador
