Instead of the same generic pop idol trash we enter every year, why dont we get some good old rock bands entered next year.

We may stand a chance then.

Risky un-PC question here, and apologies if you discussed it last night but I went to bed before the voting ...

Was Andy the only "coloured" contestant? (I know, I know, hang my head in shame for even asking the question)

In previous years, have any "coloured" contestants come close to winning? I can't remember.

He had some tasty little fills going there too. Simple but very effective, I like that.

Are we talking about music or baking here?

The problem is, the British public vote for the song we send along and will always latch on to anything vaguely pop related/an old band trying to re-make a name for themselves/anything reality TV related. Many probably don't even watch Eurovision and just think ''ooh, they were on X-Factor/Eastenders/Maria" etc, I must vote for them. Admittedly, none of the songs put forward were winners this year, but there was one which at least had a vague Eurovision sound to it. We also only have 5 or 10 minutes to vote for a song and the X-factor 'pull' is going to bring the fans out of the woodwork to vote for them if they feature. Some countries have a huge build up with elimination rounds rather than a quick 1 hour show with 5 minutes to try to get through.

I just think though they don't really think about what they are voting for.

The only way to send a rock track would to have just rock groups/songs to choose from so they couldn't pick something pop/reality show related. Or alternatively, if we go down the 'we don't give a stuff, we'll send something really mad' (like Bosnia or Spain), then the public have to only have 'mad' choices to choose from.

    Phew. Soap box ended.

Anyway - Justice for Cliff! :D
